About

What qualifies me to have a food blog of my own?  Absolutely nothing.  I have no culinary certifications nor have I ever prepped or cooked in any restaurant. I just love to create in my kitchen.  Food is beautiful and in the kitchen is where I am most comfortable.   I almost feel a little silly knowing that this blog is going to be out there for all to see, but the wonderful way I feel when I am cooking has to count for something.

It is no surprise that I feel this way.  My love of all things food runs in the family.  Like many families, our Lebanese kitchen was the center of our household.  My father’s family (5 sisters and a sister-in law all of who are great cooks!) came to America and sold groceries and produce.  My mother’s family also has grocery stores in Arizona.  It was always ever about food.  Tell my Mom you’re hungry and in fifteen minutes you’ll have a five course gourmet meal.  I know what you’re thinking, “Everyone says that about her Mom.“  But in my case, everyone says that about my Mom.  And you should see my Dad! He can wield his knives with the best of them. And then there’s my 101 year old grandmother (still going strong).  She needs a whole blog post of her own.  She’ll get one too. I guess what I am trying to say is that my culinary education took place at home and at every family gathering.

Most of the women in my life, family and friends, are wonderful cooks. You can be sure to leave completely satisfied after a dinner invitation to any one of their homes. Family and food are what bond us. Many of the recipes on my blog will be credited to them.

That being said, there is really no proof or hard evidence that could convince you to follow me, like a cookbook or a food spot on the news. But hopefully, you’ll check in with me on occasion and like what you see. Please leave your comments – unless they’re mean-spirited. In that case, keep ‘em to yourself. :)
